In addition to the scientific knowledge acquired in my field of study, practical skills were learned in regard to histological techniques. This internship experience consisted of a dissection of mammalian specimen, the processes of fixation, embedding, sectioning, and staining skin tissues for microscopic study. Laboratory skills such as solution preparation, grossing techniques, and troubleshooting equipment were also practiced, as well as observing a dermatologist in preparation of studying medicine as a dermatologist.
