  • I assisted in defending the nuclear reactors for vital area (VA) components and identify threats with help of assigned weapons and security tactics. I participated in training and tactical drills and ensure compliance in Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requirements. I performed regular foot and vehicle patrol on entire protected area (PA), vital area (VA) installations and gates to ensure the nuclear facility’s security. I monitored and checked all vehicles, personnel and all possessions at entry and exit points. I provided escorts to vehicles that enter zone with permits as per NRC requirements. I performed tests on all elements and equipment for security essential on daily basis to ensure no lapses occur in installations and warning points. I administered and monitored emergency operations and evacuations in event of any accidents or serious threats to installations.
  • Within 5 years of experience as a Nuclear Security Officer, I was promoted to Senior Nuclear Officer and given OJT trainer distinction. I was also given a “Spot” award within my first year of employment for going above and beyond my official duties.
