- Hole watch: helped welders, in the tanks, whenever they needed new rods, water, and continuously monitored oxygen levels in the hole to make sure they were safe
- Fire watch: watched where sparks and flames were going while machines were being used and made sure they didn't ignite any of the below wood chipping or other debris
