Created and matured 7 work streams to manage the various improvements implemented with this program. As part of this program network connectivity, identity and access management, cost controls, observability, environment sizing and performance optimization were all developed and matured. GitHub CI/CD pipelines were integrated into the automations. CloudForm was used for IaC, along with configuration management tools (Puppet and SCCM), in order to rapidly and reliably provision instances.
Implemented software defined networking (SD-WAN) using Silverpeak appliances at all Manhattan sites globally. This technology allowed the company to significantly improve data and voice quality.
Rolled out DMPVN network design globally in an active/active configuration using diverse circuit providers. Implemented an HA design at the firewall layer in addition to the meshed WAN network.
Deployed new unified communications solution globally using Cisco Spark and Cisco WebEx. This cloud based solution provides SIP functionality to reduce long-distance cost and PRIs for local calls.
Improved Manhattan’s security posture by developing a new patching/package management platform spanning multiple domains and operating systems. This was coupled with a new patching policy to ensure maximum protection of servers and end point devices.
Designed and created new self-service automation platform utilizing VMware vRealize (vRA/vRO), Ansible and Puppet. This platform drastically reduced deployment time of fundamental services to Manhattan customers and provided soft benefits around asset management, capacity right sizing and reporting.
Created new monitoring platform for all infrastructure services utilizing SCOM and Solarwinds. This included traditional SNMP polling, along with agent based and synthetic application monitoring.
Stabilized existing NetApp storage infrastructure and introduced a tiered methodology that delivers IOPs and capacity based on business requirements. The tiering consisted of Pure Storage (Flash), Tintri (Hybrid) and Cohesity (Archive).
Oversaw Life Cycle Management (LCM) activities to increase density through virtualization, improve usage trends through governance policies in the cloud and on-premise and shrink the company’s physical server footprint helping reduce costs.

Managed senior engineering for ITS Atlanta. This team was responsible for infrastructure architecture and problem resolution of the company’s complex IT issues related to compute, networking, storage, backup/recovery and security nationally.
Served the role of project manager for several data center installations, upgrades and site relocations. This includes the oversight of builds for mid-size data centers in Salt Lake City, Kansas City, St. Louis, Baltimore, Memphis, Cincinnati, Atlanta and Sterling. As PM I was tasked with every aspect of infrastructure and design, including server hardware, software, networking, backups, storage, power, cooling, physical and logical security and coordination of both internal and 3rd party resources.
Successfully designed and implemented Cisco UCS blade solution. This upgrade allowed for the retirement of legacy fiber channel switches in favor of a 10Gb fabric utilizing iSCSI and NFS.
Installed and configured several middleware products (JRun, Tomcat, WebLogic) for R&D. Assisted developers with the tuning and sizing of deployed applications.
