- Responsible for reviews of all development and zoning cases that impact the Gwinnett County Department of Transportation.
- Review all developments of regional impact (DRI) as assigned by ARC.
- Coordinate with the departments of Planning and Development, Community Services, Water Resources, and Finance.
- Coordinate and communicate with the Board of Commissioners as well as the GC Planning Commission on zoning cases.
- Work with developers on a weekly basis in pre-application and last-minute pop-up meetings to resolve development issues that arise during design or construction.
- Review all development cases to ensure all Transportation related UDO requirements are being satisfied, including right-of-way amounts for each case based on Roadway classifications, appropriate requirements to ensure traffic and pedestrian safety are being met, and coordination is taking place between developers and our Capital Improvement projects when there are potential conflicts regarding right-of-way specific roadway/pedestrian improvements.
- Work with Land-Use attorneys on large- and small-scale zoning cases to work out roadway and traffic improvements that will be impacted by their development.
- Work with Traffic and Engineering firms on the submitting and review of traffic impact studies as required per zoning regulations and conditions.
- Work and coordinate with other agencies such as GDOT, Cities, and ARC on projects developments that fall in their jurisdictions.
- Work and coordinate internally with DOT sections of Traffic Management (signal/ATMS coordination), Roadway Operations and Maintenance (road cuts and traffic plans for lane closures), Preconstruction (SPLOST projects that may impact developments), Construction (the Construction phase of SPLOST projects that may impact developments), Traffic Safety (traffic calming and streetlights within developments), Transit (relocation or improvement of transit stops in coordination with new developments), and Finance (fees in-lieu of construction for developments).
- Manage residential and non-residential street light program.
- Managed the residential speed hump program from between 2008 - 2017. During this time working the speed hump program, I attended all relevant BOC monthly public hearings to present and answer any questions regarding the speed hump petitions being considered.
- Coordinator for the (4) temporary mountable radar feedback signs since 2018 (beginning of program). Currently handle the power application set up process for new and revised traffic signal locations between the County and the appropriate power company.
- Have and continue to work closely with representatives of the following companies: Georgia Power, Jackson EMC, Walton EMC, Brooks-Berry-Haynie, A & S Paving, Greater Traffic, Quality Traffic Data, as well as other smaller utility companies and also many residential builders/developers.
- Have worked with representatives of most, if not all, CIDs (Community Improvement Districts) within the County on various major roadway lighting projects, including both DDIs.
- Have continually worked with Gwinnett County citizens regarding street light petitions/improvements as well as residential speed control and traffic calming.
- Have and continue to work extensively with the following programs: ArcMap GIS, Oracle GISP, Accela, SAP, CRM, as well as other relevant Microsoft programs. Have been a part of the weekly development review process for more than 10 years.
