- During my tenure as an apprentice through local 1263 I have had the opportunity to serve the local and the specific jobs I have worked in various capacities.
- One of the bigger roles I have served is the craft steward which has given me some insight into what goes on beyond just the work, whether it be having those hard conversations with supervision on the company side or those tough conversations with my brothers and sisters in the field.
- The steward role isn't just about that though sometimes it just requires being a listening ear or being able to lend a hand when your friend or co-worker needs it.
- The other major role was being a foreman. During that time I had to asses the skills of the members and put them in a position or spot to see them succeed not only for themselves but for the company as well.
- The other role was being the highest ranked apprentice on sight with no journeyman available. During the short term job i had to adapt and facilitate learning for the other apprentices teaching them everything I could while staying detail and task orientated. The job finished on time with no injuries to report.
