  • Accompanied by an area coordinator for Georgia Transmission Corporation tasked with the corrective and preventative maintenance of electrical substations within our area.
  • Our area included four EMC's which were Central Georgia EMC, Snapping Shoals EMC, Walton EMC, and Rayle EMC.
  • Maintained a visual and physical inspection yearly of roughly 100-110 substations each year.
  • Preventative maintenance task include but are not limited to were checking all outdoor cabinet enclosures, inspect all insulators as well as bus work, check all grounds on fence and equipment, any alarms that may be present in the control house, battery voltage, and overall cleanliness of the control house and substation yard.
  • Corrective maintenance involved yearly scheduled outages of power transformers to Doble test to ensure factory tolerances within the transformer have not shifted outside of its parameters.
  • 5-DAY ITS Training was obtained which allowed me to then be able to perform switching orders wether they be pre written or hand written.

Substation Construction

  • Construction of new substations as well as additions to substations in Oklahoma, Texas, and Florida.
  • Setting forms and pouring concrete pads, footers, and piers.
