Work History

Rector

St. George’s Episcopal Church
09.2018 - Current
  • I have served as the parish priest, meeting people in the midst of their trials and joys of life, from birth to end of life issues
  • I led worship before, during and after the pandemic, helping the congregation adapt as needed, including moving services online or outdoors
  • I have also been working on a neighborhood homeless initiative with local pastors and this congregation

Vicar

St. Patrick’s
09.2017 - 09.2018
  • I provided the sacraments, a bible study, managed their social media presence and updated their website, and helped them modernize their infrastructure
  • I also interfaced with the leaders of the Roman Catholic church who rented the church for Saturday evening Mass while their new church was being constructed

Rector; Assistant Rector

Mediator – Redeemer
03.2015 - 08.2017
  • As Rector, I worked to rekindle my relationship with the congregation and the relationship between the congregation and the local community
  • I have worked with the vestry to make improvements to the buildings to ensure it is a welcoming environment as newcomers arrive
  • Before, I worked as team ministry as part of my first cure in the priesthood

Associate Priest

Episcopal Church of West O’ahu
01.2014 - 10.2014
  • I was called to assist during an interim period
  • Five missions, along with their associated ministries (schools, food pantries, elder care etc.), merged to form a multi-site ministry
  • While there, I worked with a team of clergy and lay people to provide sacramental and other priestly support to an emerging ministry
  • The collaboration allowed us to serve within our gifts, while learning from one another

Protestant Chaplain

Armed Forces Retirement Home
10.2010 - 09.2013
  • As Chaplain, I planned and provided many worship services, often working with families to honor a loved one’s life
  • Regularly providing pastoral care to veterans was a joy, as I enjoy this ministry as well as the stories many veterans have
  • I also led offerings on spirituality and wellness for residents and staff
  • I helped individuals with their own spiritual beliefs regardless of denomination or religious background
  • As Protestant Chaplain, I was responsible for all residents except the Roman Catholic residents (who had their own chaplain)
  • My work and relationships included staff and residents who were Christian, Jewish, Humanist, and Atheist

Vicar

Holy Trinity Mission
03.2006 - 09.2009
  • It was an honor to begin my ordained ministry with a dual-point call
  • While assisting at Mediator-Redeemer, I also served as Vicar at Holy Trinity
  • These two communities helped me to learn the nature of congregational life

Chaplain

Cabrini Medical Center
08.2002 - 05.2004
  • I visited all non-Roman Catholic patients at this hospital
  • (The Roman Catholic patients had their own chaplain.)
