Provided on-site training and guidance on developing an evaluation project to assess the implementation of the ongoing contact investigation training.
  • Established and conducted yearly contact investigation training for the Prevention Health Associate Program, with a curriculum consisting of both virtual and in-person components. The 10-hour course introduced contact investigation and interviewing, adaptable for any disease.
  • Designed, implemented, and provided oversight for an onsite training program for the Prevention Health Associate Program. Conducted real-time training during one of the largest TB outbreaks in US history, training approximately 25 individuals in outbreak and emergency response activities, including developing databases to monitor and track over 3000 contacts.
  • Served as the Global Testing Officer for the Division of Global Migration and Health during the COVID-19 response. Responsibilities included monitoring the Global Testing Officer Box, reviewing and approving or denying waivers for entry into the United States. Collected detailed information and medical records from Embassies to determine the entry of international travelers based on COVID-19 testing and documentation, corresponded with US Embassies worldwide, and relayed information to Quarantine Stations. Addressed inquiries from airlines globally and reviewed lab documentation of COVID-19 tests.
  • Developed an online training curriculum for the Division of Global Migration and Health (DGMH) Virtual Call Center during the COVID-19 Response. Conducted 150 individual trainings for potential call center agents and supervisors, including training on the database platform and multiple scenarios from possible calls. Agents had to demonstrate proficiency before being cleared as Call Center agents.
  • Contributed to the COVID-19 Response by conducting interviews and contact investigations for the COVID-19 outbreak at Camp High Harbor to determine if children/adolescents could transmit COVID-19 to others. Conducted surveillance activities among campers and staffers to help determine the spread of the disease.
  • Participated in the emergency response effort for the Measles Outbreak in Upstate New York, conducting immunization record reviews for vaccine compliance.
  • Established a working relationship among the Indian Health Service, Great Plains Tribal Chairman’s Health Board, the state TB control program, and the Cheyenne River Reservation to help meet the needs of the tribe’s outbreak. Developed educational materials for Native Americans and adapted the content for this population and other Native American tribes.
  • Coordinated activities and acted as the technical advisor to the Division of Quarantine Migration and Health for a patient issued a Federal Isolation/Quarantine Order. Activities included daily calls with multiple Federal agencies, state and local governments, acting as the technical liaison between CDC and the state, and providing situation reports to the Division for six months.
  • Formed an ongoing working relationship with the Australian Respiratory Counsel and the TB Centers of Excellence to provide training and education to the Pacific Islands.
