  • Extrusion Lead, Extrusion operation and utility I started as utility, became operator, moved up to Lead operator, currently have lead position. As utility I had to supply operators with cones and dividers 3 times a night or as needed, remove and weight waste from behind the lines, and bale the yarn. Learn how to operate elevator, bale, hyster and pallet jack. Break down boxes from 3rd floor, bale out plastic and cardboard, and do house keeping around the plant. Operator duties include doffing line, string up any break out, pack out yarn with correct labels and check quality, help out partner, keep machines and line clean. Lead operator, make sure all machines are running up to spec, pass out labels to operators, take cones once a night to Lab, give operators breaks, do color changes when needed, help out other lines while other lead is not on line, check 3rd floor for correct packs, check quench and monomer readings, clean odd positions every night, check for broken or malfunction machinery in line and if needed call maintenance, take any bad yarn to odd lot, report all break outs and issues to supervisor twice a shift, report any safety issues to supervisor, and make sure housekeeping is done thru

Duties include making sure machines are running and have cells at all times, change wires as needed, refill Flux as needed, identify defect and their root cause, rerun repair strings, reset alarms and identify problem to alarm, weight and separate cell from NG ports, change out ng trays when full, fill out defect on ng strings, make repair cells and wire, report any mechanical problems to EQ, report high defects to PR, keep all area cleaned.
