Service Manager: After this I moved to the service side of the business. I started as a service writer, then mechanic, and finished as Service Manager. I managed service operations to ensure timely and quality repairs. I supervised technicians on best practices for repairs. I tracked shop efficiency and metrics and used that to develop and implement procedures to enhance shop performance. I communicated estimates and updates to customers and learned ways to diffuse upset customers and provide other solutions when applicable.
General Manager: The last 3 years I have been the general manager for Taylor's. I manage a team of ten people from mechanics, other managers, sales staff, and helpers. I have developed and implemented strategies to increase sales, grow the shop, and increase profitability from parts, whole goods, and repairs. I grew strong relationships with the community and vendors to ensure long term success and loyalty. I grew employees by coaching and mentoring them on management principles, industry norms, company policies, and technology systems.
