Summary

I am a 3rd year graduate student at Emory University in the Biochemistry, Cell and Developmental Biology Program. I graduated from Duke University with distinction in Biology by completing an undergraduate thesis on the internalization, trafficking, and recycling of Gs-coupled G Protein-Coupled Receptors in the Lefkowitz Laboratory. I am currently working in the Hall Laboratory studying orphan Gs-coupled G Protein-Coupled Receptors.

Work History

Graduate Student

Hall Lab, Emory University
01.2023 - Current
  • Research on mechanisms of activation of orphan Gs-coupled G Protein-Coupled Receptors primarily expressed in the brain using mammalian cell culture and luciferase-based cAMP signaling assays.
  • Used CRISPR/Cas9 technology to generate knockout cell lines for use in signaling assays.

Research Technician

Radolf & Caimano Lab, UCONN Medical Center
06.2022 - 08.2022
  • Projects related to studying persistence of L. interrogans & B. burgdorferi in the Radolf & Caimano Lab.
  • Generation of antibodies against protein of interest in B. burgdorferi.
  • Purification of proteins of interest expressed in E. coli by affinity chromatography and size exclusion chromatography.

Student Researcher

Lefkowitz Lab, Duke University
02.2021 - 04.2022
  • Research completed for an undergraduate honors thesis towards graduation with distinction in Biology, entitled "G Protein-Coupled Receptors: How the Retromer Protein Complex and Adapter Protein SNX27 Mediate Receptor Recycling".
  • Purification of proteins of interest expressed in E. coli by affinity chromatography, ion exchange chromatography, and size exclusion chromatography.
  • Assayed binding interactions with pull-downs and isothermal titration calorimetry.

Student Intern

Radolf & Caimano Lab, UCONN Medical Center
06.2021 - 07.2021
