Ivy Miller

I am currently a volunteer crisis counselor for Crisis Textline. Although I am still early in my journey with this company, I have already grown so much emotionally and mentally. I try to dedicate at least a couple hours a week of my time to helping people with good contact techniques and empathy. Crisis counselors deal with very intense topics, including but not limited to suicide, self-harm, and sexual/physical abuse. Crisis counselors help determine if a person is at imminent risk of suicide by using the best practices of suicidology.

• Cultivated warm relationships with regular customers.
• Explained menu items and suggested appropriate options for food allergy concerns.
• Worked with POS system to place orders, manage bills, and handle complimentary items.
• Demonstrated strong multitasking skills by managing multiple tables simultaneously without compromising service quality.
• Assisted in training new hires, providing guidance on restaurant standards and best practices.
