Work History

Site Manager

Newberry Construction
Colquitt
10.2016 - 02.2026
  • I have worked for my family's construction company off and on since I was old enough to be with my dad.
  • I learned how to roof, frame, and pretty much everything else besides electric and plumbing.
  • I oversaw residential remodels and roofing jobs. My leadership abilities were put out front due to ahead of schedule completion rate, and great customer service that led to more work and promotion to overseeing commercial jobs with subcontractors and more responsibilities.
  • I learned how to delegate work to subcontractors and make sure they were on schedule. Learned to communicate and operate with larger number of employees answering directly to me. I took more hands on role in talent acquisition. I established my name as someone who will get the job done right, ahead of schedule and cheap as possible.

Maintenance/Quality Tech

  • I had time on my hands so I spent my free time in maintenance where I did a lot of preventative maintenance to insure the plant didn't have down time.
  • I would fix numerous problems when it would go town to bring it back up as fast as possible.
  • I learned how to weld, fabricate metal, and how a number of mechanical systems worked and how to fix them.
  • I also learned how to work extended hours with little time off.
  • I generally worked 60+ hrs a week with maybe 4 or 5 days off all year.
  • I also was called into work handful of times every week.
