I am a compassionate, hardworking, and team-oriented medical professional who prioritizes my patients’ well-being overall. I strive to provide a calm, comfortable, and positive experience that supports patients’ mental, emotional, and physical health. Guided by a Christ-like mindset, I am dedicated to continuous learning and always giving my best in providing quality care.
I work in a fast-paced doctor’s office as a wellness nurse providing annual wellness visits daily. This includes assessing and documenting vital signs, updating medications, assessing patients’ overall health, reviewing medical histories, and identifying risk factors for disease prevention. I educate patients on healthy lifestyle choices, schedule and provide reminders for preventive screenings and immunizations, and collaborate with healthcare providers to develop or update care plans. Prior to being promoted to this role, I worked as a Registered Phlebotomy Technician for a little over a year and a half. In this role, I performed venipuncture, used patient identification to ensure accurate blood draws, soothed my patients to prevent anxiety or high stress levels, tracked specimens, ordered lab supplies, and performed therapeutic phlebotomy.
As a phlebotomist in this doctor’s office, I was responsible
for performing venipuncture and point-of-care testing such
as HCG, HIV, covid, flu, strep, urinalysis, microalbumin, and FOBT. I ensured proper labeling and handling of specimens, maintained adequate lab supply inventory, and upheld strict infection control standards by keeping the work area clean and free of blood, urine, and other bodily fluids.
Working as a phlebotomist at a plasma center entailed preparing and operating plasmapheresis machines, performing venipuncture, and ensuring proper donor identification and documentation. I monitored donors closely throughout the donation process, administered saline at the end of every donation, or as needed, and watched closely for any signs of adverse reactions; providing prompt care and reporting to medical staff when necessary.
