• Assisting with setting up room for procedure; cleaning operating room after each surgery in adherence to all AORN safety guidelines; collaborating with all surgical team members prior to and during surgery to ensure optimal patient safety; providing pre-surgical assessments of all surgical patients; assisting with intubation; providing optimal surgical site preparations to ensure sterility of site for reduction of operative and post-operative complications and infections

• Providing post-operative care to all surgical patients such as monitoring and controlling pain and blood loss, monitoring vital signs, and providing post-operative instructions to patients and their care givers; follow up phone calls to ensure patient safety and well-being; responsible for creating and filing paper charts after patient care in an organized manner

Overseeing all staff RNs and PCTs during daily patient care; creating daily care schedules for nurses and patients; attending weekly meetings to collaborate with all members of care team to discuss patient’s plan of care; assess patient condition and monitor vital signs; administer medication in a timely manner; develop a plan of care that is individualized to each patient; educate patients and their family members with information that is specific to their diagnosis; monitor ventilator settings; accurately measure, photograph, and document wounds; change wound dressings on simple and complex wounds
