Work History
Structural Mechanic
Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation
Savannah
02.2023 - Current
Joined Gulfstream Aerospace to continue working aircraft wings on G600’s in the Savannah Building Y facility. Building aircraft wings required teamwork to ensure the wing is properly built, common to the digital blueprint using 3D modeling. While working at Gulfstream I'm able to get proper overhead crane training, learn more pneumatic tools, improve assembly skills, improve my fabricating skills and most importantly build on my aircraft experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform fitting of detail parts with a mixture of drilling and riveting operations to ensure wing department assembly meets job requirements.
- Able to work with minimal supervision and capable of handling different roles and responsibilities as they arise.
- Rivet structural parts using all tools needed and required to do the job, such as portable riveting guns, pneumatic drills, pneumatic guns, countersinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, rivets, countersunk rivets, blind rivets, and rivet bucking bars.
- Remove rivets, bolts, Hi-Lok’s, and other fasteners without damaging any structure or material on the aircraft wing.
- Assemble parts to be riveted using jigs, clamps, pins and straight edges.
- Maintain a neat workplace and prevent material from being loose to prevent Foreign Object Debris (FOD)
- Check all work and ensure all rivets are shot to length shown on the blueprint and drawings and to make sure no material or sheet metal is damaged before final inspection.
- Maintain and use all logs and records such as MIR sheets, logbook entries for each assembly and inspection points to ensure quality work.
- Make repairs from Production Change Orders (PCO) to perform necessary rework to ensure installation meets the right requirement.
- Read blueprints, work orders, operation sheets and sketches to accomplish each sequence of operations, type of material, sizes and hole patterns for Hi-Lites, bolts and rivets on each wing assembly.
- Perform other duties that’s assigned to complete by a deadline.
- Determine sequence of operations, type size and hole patterns for rivets.
- Check all work and ensure a defective free assemble prior to final inspection.
Wing removal overhead crane training.
Upper skin and lower skin overhead crane training.
Trained new employees on safety protocols and assembly techniques.
Dismantled damaged structures using power tools such as wrenches, hammers, drills.
Checked fit-up tolerances between two mating parts during assembly processes.
Used cutting torches to cut metal pieces in preparation for assembly operations.
Lead Aircraft Mechanic
Thrush Aircraft
Albany
10.2020 - 02.2023
Joined Thrush Aircraft to try a new working field which is building aircrafts. I specialize in building airplane wings at Thrush. Starting my mechanic career at Thrush gave me great improvement with working with my hands and working from blueprints. Aircraft field also helped me improve working as a team to meet the job goals in a team oriented work environment, under minimal supervision.

Managed inventory of structural parts and materials, ensuring availability for scheduled maintenance.
Interpreted and followed technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics for maintenance procedures.
Performed corrosion control and applied protective coatings to aircraft structures.
Inspected, removed and replaced components of hydraulic systems.
Documented maintenance actions and repairs in aircraft logs and maintenance records.
Fabricated, repaired, and installed aircraft structural assemblies.
Trained junior mechanics in aircraft structural maintenance techniques and safety protocols.
Participated in aircraft recovery missions, assessing and repairing structural damages.
Drilled holes in structural parts for rivets or bolts.
Fabricated and trimmed wing skins common to the blueprint measurements.
