Began in emergency services in 2007 as volunteer firefighter, serving until 2015, leaving as rank of lieutenant. I received training in structural and wildland firefighting, pressurized container fire control, vehicle extrication, rescue specialist, search and rescue, incident command system, and assisted other departments during times of crisis, such as the Mother’s Day 2008 tornado outbreak and ice storm of 2014. Became an RN in 2009 while volunteering as a firefighter. Successfully completed the paramedic nurse challenge and received paramedic certification.
