Testimony: I was one of many people that grew up in the ministry. My father was a Pastor who has served for over 30 years. So, I am no stranger to Christ being front and center in our home. My mother was a gentle and kind pillar who devoted her life to Christ and the mission. It was her that helped me learn about and accept Christ when I was nine years old. Though, she would go on to be with the Lord not even a year into my walk with Christ, I was instilled with a strong desire to serve King Jesus and seek to make as many for Him as I could. Before I met Christ, I was oblivious to who He was despite hearing my father teach of Him. And my faith was shaken after losing my mother being so young in the faith at the time. Yet, with my heavenly and earthly father's guidance I have grown much. And continue to grow so that I can be everything I can be for Christ and His Kingdom.
Call to Ministry: When I was 14 years old, and my faith began to mature properly I felt the pull of God to teach and share His word according to Matt 28. Since then, I have traveled across Georgia Teaching in many churches and engaging in many denominations. I also had the pleasure of engaging with many who were lost and led them to the Lord by His grace. The ultimate goal for me is to emulate Christ in every aspect and project His love onto others so that they might know the beauty of King Jesus.
Formal Theological Training: I have been honored to have received a proper Biblical upbringing from my father who has studied and taught God's word for over 25 years. As well as formal training from my time at Liberty University where I major in Christian Studies and theology with a minor in Missions. In just the past 5 years I have learned the fundamentals of scripture as a historical, spiritual, and literary work. As well as learned and continue to study the scripture in the original Greek and Hebrew languages.
Understanding of the Gospel: My understanding of the gospel is that it is the good news and that it is used to grow, nurture, and develop the kingdom of God. I am shaped by the encouragement Paul gave to his son in the faith in 2 Timothy 3:16. The scripture as a whole is used for the purpose of creating more like Christ and continue to grow in His grace and love.
View on the Bible: I have a purely exegetical view of the Bible. I believe the scripture is completely Inerent (true) and I carry the truth of the king's word to others. The Bible is not only a beautiful literary work but a living, breathing text that was created to change hearts in a positive way.
Experience in Discipleship: I have had the honor of traveling and engaging different walks of life and sharing the gospel for anyone that was willing to hear. From my teenage years I have grown to love and engage all so that the gospel may spread and create more like King Jesus.
My philosophy in teaching Youth: I believe we should be as open and straight forward as possible in teaching children and youth. The scripture tells us in Proverbs 22:6 that we are to “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it.” And not just show them a path to walk on their own, but to show and walk it with them. Because I and you was a child at one point: curious, unsure, but with a sense of wonder and longing to understand what it means to live in this world. Jesus encouraged the parents to allow the children to come learn with Him (Matthew 19:13-15). To ask questions, engage, talk, and most importantly understand Jesus the man, teacher, and king. We should be the youth’s guide but also someone they can feel safe around and talk to so that we can better understand how to show them our King’s light more. I believe we should teach them, learn with them, laugh with them, cry with them, and walk with them under the Lordship of King Jesus so that they may become all that He has destined them to be.
Ministry Aspirations/Where I see myself: My ultimate goal in the ministry is to become fully immersed in the guiding and leading of others by the leadership of the Holy Spirit. Meaning I want to be someone that people can trust and rely on to help further their walk as well as my own. I am not looking for titles or positions in the church as a goal… I just want to serve and be a servant of God and His people so that all may see His light forever shining bright.
