When the CDC opened its' new Global Communications Center in 2005, I was responsible for assisting in creation of SOP documents, checklists, and policies relevant to booking meetings in the center and for general government usage of the facility
Responsibilities included soliciting potential hotels, caterers, decorators/exhibit providers, transportation companies, interpreters, etc., to provide services for CDC clientele utilizing the facility.
Additional responsibilities included booking and approving meetings/events space online via CDC's reservation system, answering questions from potential clientele, consulting with clients to be sure all elements were in place prior to meeting start date.
Ensured attendee security clearance was processed prior to the meeting.
Worked with various CDC departments to setup audiovisual requirements and other technical details as required for each meeting.
Provided guidance, suggestions, recommendations, and technical assistance to both clients and other planners in the department to ensure successful meetings.
