I am a highly motivated, and dedicated Firefighter/ driver operator with 9 years experience between 2 departments. I want Monroe County Emergency Services continue to grow into the department it will be. I believe my experience in both firefighting and EMS will be an asset in that growth. I feel my leadership will help train and motivate young firefighters to love the job and do it safely and proficiently. I have experience managing fire scenes, vehicle accidents, and EMS calls, and the personnel working them. I work well under pressure and can make decisive decisions to assure everyone goes home safely.
To perform all Firefighting responsibilities including fire suppression, life and property preservation, hazard mitigation, and scene management. As the B-shift FTO I facilitate and provide training for new hires, and probationary firefighters assigned to me, as well as help instructing new recruit training.
As an AEMT I respond to medical emergencies and treat patients according to my scope of care.
As a Sergeant with Henry county my responsibilities included all firefighting duties as well as being an expert fire apparatus operator, driver, and pumper. I was also tasked with station level training assignments and documentation. As the AIOC I was responsible for all crew members in my station as well as the station itself. This included ensuring station duties, daily duties, apparatus checks, reports and training were completed in a correct and timely manner. On fire scenes, motor vehicle incidents, and extrications I was tasked with incident command, scene management, personnel safety until relieved by a higher ranking officer.
