• Performed troubleshooting and diagnosis on malfunctioning equipment.

Prior to being a Technician at Shaw, over the course of 2 years, I managed to cross train in material handling, doffing, weaving, bottom end on the warp crew, pattern design, and pattern building.

I was assigned to the Warehouse where I supplied hygiene products, bedding and clothing to both inmate and staff. My purpose was to issue products accordingly, conduct inventory and keep both paper and computer documents for audit purposes. Once every 6 months I had to conduct a mass inventory of state issued property and take accountability for said items.

• Took custody of prisoners from arresting officers to begin processing into detention facility.
• Attended to feeding, housing, and physical well-being of inmates.
• Processed visitors and attorneys arriving to see prisoners.
• Wrote daily reports and maintained logs of inmate activities and behaviors.
• Processed inmates by taking photographs and fingerprints.
• Conducted physical searches of prisoners and premises in search of weapons and contraband.
• Regularly conducted security and sanitation checks.
• Verified identification using specialized databases and methods such as fingerprinting.
• Enforced rules and regulations to maintain order among inmates.
• Received and inspected mail, property, and funds from visitors on behalf of designated inmates.

• Promoted to Jail Training Officer, to which I was to train all new hires on proper intake, shake downs, GCIC/NCIC, booking, bonding, releases, ICE procedures, security checks, and various general procedures.

• Observed and supervised inmates throughout visits, meal time, recreation, and phone calls.
• Escorted inmates to and from cells, classes, work detail, and medical appointments.
• Searched cells of inmates to identify and confiscate contraband and other prohibited items.
