  • Process monthly billings from insurance providers. Review billings for accuracy, codes and advances for payment within 5 days of receipt. Resolve discrepancies with carriers, payroll and the University. Complete reports for management as requested.
  • Coordinate the ACA and ERISA benefits reporting requirements.
  • Resolve employee complaints related to health and welfare plans.
  • Act as a liaison with various insurance carriers and foster effective relationships with client representatives.
  • Act as a resource for HR contacts to ensure understanding and compliance with benefits and HR policies and regulations.
  • Ensure all reports and information is submitted to appropriate locations in a timely manner.
  • Conduct benefits presentation at weekly new hire orientation for all staff and/or faculty positions.
  • Remain current on all legal regulations related to benefits and HR in general, including but not limited to HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, Cobra FERPA, and Healthcare Reform.
  • Manage the administration of all employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, short-term disability, Flexible Spending Account and Health Savings Accounts, and Employee Assistance Programs.
  • Serve as a contact for all of the employee benefit vendors and ensure benefits are administered according to the agreements.
  • Process monthly billing, reconciliation, and payment requests with accuracy. Review weekly reports for accuracy and consistency in payment of claims.
  • Manage the university's annual benefits fair and open enrollment periods by planning and developing the logistics, creating employee materials, coordinating employee sessions, and working with benefit vendors to ensure benefit information is accurate and timely.
  • Process disability claims (long and short term and/or disability requests) and life insurance claim forms.
  • Conduct employee benefit presentations for new hire orientation, departmental meetings, and other requests from the university community. Process all enrollment materials for new hires, coordinate with payroll and the appropriate benefit vendor platforms.
  • Manage the FMLA processes by meeting with employees and supervisors to determine FMLA eligibility and coordinating leave requests for further HR review and approval.
  • Administer the college's Growth Through Life tuition reimbursement/waiver program by processing applications, making eligibility determinations, reimbursement requests, and managing HRIS tracking and monitoring protocols.
  • Administer all Student Loan Forgiveness requests and maintain record keeping.
  • Process separations, qualifying events, and corrections/errors and communicate changes to vendors and coordinate COBRA administration and conversion/portability processes with exiting employees.
  • Process and maintain Athletic Injury Program by submitting request for deductibles, file maintenance and monthly reports.
